For the vision is yet for an appointed time, and it hastens to the end; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait (earnestly) for it; because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day." Habakkuk 2:2,3

In 1993 as we were seeking wisdom about an extensive newsletter mail out, this verse was part of our daily Bible reading. This verse confirmed to us that God had truly given us a vision and a message to share with His people. It is hard to believe it has now been seven years since beginning our business and the desire for an informative newsletter to God's people. We are so excited that this desire has now become a reality. In November 1999 we mailed out our first issue. Please contact our office for information on receiving this quarterly publication. But for now , we would like to introduce ourselves...

We are Brad and Sue Becker, who with our 6 children (our oldest, Ashley is married) live in Alpharetta, Ga. (actually Cherokee County).  We are Christians and home-school our children.

For years we had wanted to start a business, but never really knew clearly the direction we were to go.  With Brad being in the construction field and believing that when economic depression comes, the construction industry is often the first and hardest hit, we began to contemplate a food related home-based business.  We knew we wanted a food related business since we enjoyed preparing food for others, but also felt that if any business could survive a depression, a food business would.

Almost nine years ago we began receiving Basic Care Bulletins from the Medical Training Institute of America.  From our reading we became convicted that we needed to be more responsible for the health and well being of our bodies.  We read of how we as a people have disregarded God's provisions for our food and for the sake of convenience, vanity, and greed, now have "bread" that is responsible for many of the diseases that plague our nation.  We read of the importance of eating bread "real bread" daily.  These revelations led to our purchasing a grain mill and the making of all our own bread.  After just a few short months of eating real bread we could already see many healthy benefits (warts disappeared, energy boosted, constipation relieved, and cravings for sugar diminished, to name a few).  The health of our family improved dramatically.  We could see that grains and fresh ground wheat bread should be the starting point of any health improvement diet and that God intended bread to be the staff of life.  We testified to this truth.  From our excitement and testimonies we began to get others interested in this way of eating.  This was the "conception" of our business - The Bread Beckers that was "born" just one week prior to the Presidential election of 1992.  We became distributors of the Magic Mill III Plus and other appliances and accessories that promote healthier eating.  We were excited about our new business and the new direction our lives seemed to be taking.  The results of the election, however, brought new concerns.  We could see that America had chosen to forsake God's ways which would certainly lead to His judgment and punishment.  The very day following the election the Lord began to give us a "vision" of what His plans were for our lives through these hard and difficult times ahead for our nation.

The story of Joseph began coming to our attention from every direction.  Through God's word we began to believe that God was equipping us to be like Joseph to his people. Even the meaning of Brad's name, "abundant provider" seemed to confirm our conviction of storing grain.  We began to sense an urgency in sharing with others the importance of preparing during these "fat" years, for the "lean" years that are ahead.  We began encouraging God's people to purchase a grain mill and prepare, not out of fear but out of obedience to God.

As part of God's judgment on this nation we believe that an economic collapse is inevitable.  One, not like any other, because the American dollar will fail.  God always warns those that will hear of His coming judgments that we might repent and prepare.  We hope our preparations might be used to feed many during the hard times that may be ahead.

As we are now into our seventh year of business, God has laid another burden on our hearts for His people.  We have now met literally thousands of people in our travels doing curriculum fairs and our own seminars.  We have seen such sickness and disease, common diseases, some serious, some just minor inconveniences, but all robbing God's people of joy and fruitfulness in the Lord.  We began to see that God's people were much like those described in Matthew 9: 36.  They seek medical help with their problems but often to no avail, leaving them "bewildered -- harassed and distressed and dejected and helpless -- like sheep with out a shepherd".  (Matthew 9:36)

Many, however, began to share with us their own testimonies of improved health once changing to real bread made from fresh ground wheat.  Continually the testimonies are coming in and continually the comment will be "and all we've changed is the bread".

With a degree in Food Science and a fervent interest in biochemistry, Sue began to study the effectiveness of this real bread to bring about such improved health.  We have been truly amazed! God has certainly provided the foods to supply the nutrients needed to maintain health; but, His perfect provisions have been altered for convenience.

We now offer a nine hour seminar covering the nutritional facts and benefits of the bread, as well as our vision, and a complete demonstration of the milling, mixing and bread making process.  We also have a 90 minute audio tape covering much of the nutritional and spiritual insights we have learned.  We have a Recipe Collection of our favorite tried and true recipes.  We have a retail store, as well as a warehouse for bulk food orders at discounted prices to make these whole grain foods more available to God's people.

Our product line includes the Grain Master Whisper Mill, Electrolux Assistent mixer, the Bosch 5000 Food Processor, the L'Equip  food dehydrator, and the Ultra-Blend Blender.  We also carry wheat as well as other dry grains and beans, raw honey, yeast, non-aluminum bake ware, books, and many other accessories helpful for baking bread and other nutritious whole foods.

It is our desire to bring hope and enlightenment to God's people and to offer as much practical help as possible.  God has literally thrust us into the harvest field and the harvest is indeed ripe but the laborers are few.  In January 1998 we incorporated and took on a long time friend as a partner.  Jim Carpenter has been a blessing to us and our business and runs the details of the company.  Ashley, our oldest daughter, is now married but continues to run our retail store.  Brad runs the warehouse operation and Sue is trying to be a full time mom and to devote her time to studying, speaking and writing.  What began as just a business for us, has now become so much more.  For us this is now a ministry, a mission, and a calling!
